1.CHAIRMAN, RANDY LYONS: Introduction and explanation of HPC mission and
objectives for the Caldwell Perspective, including stories of various homes in the district.
2.COMMISSIONER, BRADSHAW: Name and criteria for local HPC awards.
3.COMMISSIONER, PATTERSON: Article to review for submission to The Caldwell
Perspective. Notes for Historic Commission Strategic Planning Workshop and Historic
Commission Plan.
4.COMMISSIONER, NOTHDURFT: TBD
5.COMMISSIONER, O’BEERY: TBD
6.STAFF, MORGAN BESSAW: Information about HPC content being added to the City of
Caldwell Newsletter. RFP and SHPO updates. Large plaza sign usage details.

III. CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS PUBLIC HEARINGS: None.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
V. NEW BUSINESS: Presentation by Rachelle Castleberry on the Caldwell Historical Society 501C3
information. The president and treasurer of the society are looking to retire so they are seeking
interested parties to replace their positions. Rachelle is currently the society secretary. Grants are
applied for and utilized for updating items at the Van Slyke Museum and are looking to apply for
more funds to make the museum ADA compliant. The ability to house grant money with 501C3 has
many benefits.
VI. COMMISSION/STAFF UPDATES AND REPORTS:
1. CHAIR COMMISSIONER LYONS: Shared ideas to submit stories to The Caldwell
Perspective to increase interest in Historic Preservation.
2. COMMISSIONER BRADSHAW: Would like to draft ideas for local awards. Will work with
Commissioner Patterson on the name of the award and criteria.
3. COMMISSIONER PATTERSON: Will write an article for the commission and city staff to
review before submitting to The Caldwell Perspective.

4. COMMISSIONER NOTHDURFT: Absent
5. COMMISSIONER O’BEERY: Willing to make more story maps of local parks and historical
sites if a GIS subscription would be purchased.
6. STAFF, MORGAN BESSAW: Reached out to C of I about a student to assist with editing
videos of the Chuck Randolph interviews. Waiting to hear back. Morgan will research how much
the GIS subscription is and report back. Proposed adding information to the City of Caldwell
Newsletter about HPC. RFP draft has been written and reviewed by the director. It is being
reviewed by the city procurement officer and will be open for about one month. SHPO is still
working on sending a contract about our grant funding being issued.
