As I mentioned, the 12 or 15 of us that discussed this project from the viewpoints of the adjacent Cumberland Estates neighborhood are generally in agreement that we prefer to leave the two parcels in question as currently zoned, Commercial only with many possibilities for some thriving businesses. However, if the latest Comprehensive Plan and other factors require changing to some of it being residential, then a solution most of us could live with would involve the developer agreeing to only build single-level homes for that South row of homes that will share a boundary with residents on Appalachia. That being said, I can't say for certain that this position will be something everyone in Cumberland Estates can live with, but it will help for many of us. Should this be the way P&Z, the developer, and the Council work things out, the remaining concern is that the developer may make an attempt at a later date to make zoning changes to allow for the more profitable apartment buildings that we are unanimously opposed to. Thanks for your understanding on this matter. PS: I'm not able to attend the meeting for reasons we discussed and look forward to a positive outcome for everyone.
