I am writing to inform you of my intent to apply for a special use permit with the City of
Caldwell to operate a small auto repair business (Gem State Auto Doctor) at 4018 E Linden
St. STE#102, which is located within our community.
The purpose of this letter is to provide advance notice and to share information about the
proposed business. The auto repair shop will focus on general services, e.g., routine
vehicle maintenance and minor repairs and will operate during normal business h ours,
anticipated to be Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
I want to assure you that the business will be operated in a manner that is respectful of the
surrounding neighborhood. Measures will be taken to minimize noise, traffic, and any
potential visual impacts. No disabled vehicle storage, excessive noise, or hazardous
materials will be permitted beyond what is allowed under city regulations. The property will
be maintained in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
Your feedback is important to me and to the City of Caldwell. If you have any questions,
concerns, or would like additional information about the proposed use ; I will be hosting a
neighborhood meeting. The meeting will be held at the Caldwell Public Library in the Idaho
Room on January 26th, 2026, from 3pm-4pm. The library is located at 1010 Dearborn St,
Caldwell, ID 83605
