Dear Caldwell Planning and Zoning and City Council,
If the proposal of 48 single family residential lots were to be approved, the students
would attend Lakevue Elementary, Summitvue Middle School, and Vallivue High
School.
We are grateful that the district will be opening two new elementary schools in the
fall of 2025. Ideally, an elementary school serves between 400 and 500 students.
However, to keep pace with growth over the past decade, the district has been
building schools with capacities of 700 to 800 students. Despite these larger buildings,
projections indicate that continued residential development will push Lakevue
Elementary over capacity again by 2029.
