City Council meeting July 7, 2025
Attn: Caldwell Mayor & City Council members,
My name is Karen Kruger; I live with my husband at 16890 Jerica Ct in Caldwell. We are
in complete opposition of the development for Springhouse Townes Subdivision,
Annexation and PUD construction by Triple Dot Development.
The revised plat for the North End changed to 2 units (6 &5) both around 200 feet long.
They are front loading doors the backside of the units will face our backyard. This is a
single door reduction and no changes to the height. To be clear the development
includes 11 buildings on the North End, each with a mid-roof point of 22.5ft to 23.5ft
and a high point of 28-30+ feet. They will be located just 15 feet from our property
line. These buildings are huge; they dwarf a 6 foot fence, and will tower over our home
and leave us with no privacy.
While I understand people have the right to develop and build but please not to the
extent that it negativly affects the existing neighborhoods. These buildings are massive
in height and NOT compatible with surrounding area neighborhoods, their dark in color
and will not blend into the area of single detached homes. All of the current
developments, and upcoming new developments by CBH are single detached homes. Is
it not possible to build single detached homes for sale? Not these monstosities that are
to be leased?
After a decade of cherishing our custom-built sanctuary, the impending disruption from
this build has put chronic stress on us. We invested not just money, but our dreams
into this home, seeking solace in a community that values tranquility. The thought of
noise and upheaval invading our cherished life on Jerica Court is disheartening,
threatening the harmony we all love.
Build your high-density developments like Springhouse Townes Sub but limit them to
areas like Caldwell Boulevard I-84, Karcher Rd 55 Hwy or 20/26. Or build near a
shopping mall, grocery stores, for a younger age group of people. We urge the City
Council to reconsider the impact of high-density developments in areas that are better
suited for single detached family homes. And vote NO to this development at 16767
Midway Rd.
Thank you for your time,
Karen Kruger
