Here is my letter with the sources. Thank you for your time. I expect this property will be developed, but I do notthink this is the right time. I do not believe that the need for this subdivision is so urgent that we should increase the demand for ourcurrent services without prior preparation. In the public meeting in January held by Triple Dot Development to notify the public about the proposed subdivision they confessedthat no traffic study had been done to evaluate if the roads in the area could handle the increased amount of traffic. I am veryconcerned that this will significantly increase the amount of traffic in the area. Residents already have substantial waiting times todrive very short distances. I am opposed to this plan because it will add an increase in the number of vehicles on the road withoutproper infrastructure to support the current growth. I know steps are being taken to address this, but that work has not yet beencompleted. I am also concerned about the capacity of the schools. New schools have been built because of the increased number of studentsfrom the already planned number of homes. However, current projects expect that even with the two new schools, the district is stillexpected to be over capacity within 5 years. I am opposed to this plan because the large number of additional homes will furtherstrain the school district and additional measures should be taken to address these concerns before we decide to keep growing. https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/idaho-press/vallivue-sets-new-boundaries-for-2025-26-school-year/277-e745387f-8514-42a9-9407-3f02aff46067 We do not have sufficient emergency services to cover the existing area. Two years ago the average response time for emergencyservices was 6:01 minutes, while the national average is 4:00 minutes. Last year, some Caldwell residents still had wait times of 15 to20 minutes and 150 calls were unanswered due to lack or resources. The current emergency services resources should be improvedbefore we continue to increase their workload by adding more housing. I do not believe this development is so urgent that we needto sacrifice our city’s safety when we are already lagging behind the nation. https://www.kivitv.com/caldwell/caldwell-fire-department-and-rural-fire-district-team-up-to-improve-emergency-response-times#:~:text=%E2%80%9CIf%20we%20can%20really%20tell,response%20time%2C%E2%80%9D%20Wendelsdor%20said. https://www.cityofcaldwell.org/Departments/Caldwell-Fire/Caldwell-Fire-Station-1-and-4-Bond#:~:text=Will%20response%20times%20improve?,time%20is%206:01%20minutes. Lastly, I am opposed to this plan because the planned properties do not fit in with the existing surrounding properties. This mediumdensity subdivision will be surrounded by single family homes. I would not feel as strongly if it was adjacent to other medium densitytownhouses, but as it is planned, and with the current surrounding structures, it will be the eyesore of the local community.
