HomeMy WebLinkAboutCheverton2 - Letter of Opposition_ElementRidge_02.06.25Briana Cheverton briana.cheverton@gmail.com To whom it may concern: My young family lives in an area that will face impacts of the proposed Element Ridge subdivision. What drew us to this home was the established and quiet neighborhood with large lot sizes (over 1/3 of an acre), and the views we enjoy day and night. We moved here because we want our small children to have a big yard with mature trees and the opportunity to grow food and raise small animals. We love rural Canyon County. That being said, my family has some concerns about the development being planned in front of us. Our home is at the corner of David Street and Kimball. My biggest concern is that I do not want subdivision traffic in front of my home where my young children play. I would please request that if there is any way at all possible of having the subdivision entrance elsewhere, please do. We already have people who live nearby and their visitors traveling at speeds significantly higher than the 20mph posted on David Street. The views our neighborhood has enjoyed since 1970 are at risk if buildings are higher than ours. Please keep this in mind for the residents whose property value will see decreases due to the loss of views and the construction endured for 7+ years. At this point in time we don’t have street lights and we don’t need them! We don’t get random foot traffic in our neighborhood. We currently feel very safe. We enjoy looking out at night and seeing the stars still without lights inhibiting it. I will not feel as safe with more traffic, car and foot. Thank you, Briana Cheverton
