Historic Preservation Commission Application for Certificate of Appropriateness
May 19,2010.
The two garage doors are probably 50 years old. Yesterday, one roller came out of the track, and
the door almost fell on me. This has happened before, and it is an unsafe situation.
Propose a needed replacement of two garage doors including the following:
. This work will be done by Overhead Door Company.
o Remove and discard the current doors
o The current door openings are 7' high by 9' wide. I have to install 4X6s to lower the
opening to 6' 7 Vr" highto accommodate the new tracks and springs. Currently there is
only 3" clearance from the top of the door opening to the rafters in the garage.
o Install two new doors shown in the brochure (white Panel Style without windows).
o Install one garage door opener.
If it is possible, I would appreciate a fast disposition of this request because I paid a $65 service
charge yesterday to repair the door that came out of the track. If I commit to Overhead Door
Com-pany in a tirnely irurrr.r, they will apply thef65 to the cost of the new doors.
Thanks very much
