I have been furnished, and have reviewed, the Step-by-Step guide for Certificate of ApproPriateness. Overview The Caldwell Historic Preservation Commission reviews land use activities that may affect the Steunenberg Residential Historic District's historical, architectural, ecological or scenic attributes. The Caldwell Historic Preservation Commission has prepared a checklist to assist you in applying for the Certificate of Appropriateness. [f you need a COA, please fill out the checklist. The checklist is not a substitute for other materials requhed by the Commission. Required materials include: 0 A wriuen narrative describing the reason for the alteration and fully describing the treafrnent of each item you have checked on the list. Removal of existing material is also subject to Commission review. If you can document to the satisfaction of Commission staff thai changes will be in-kind using like materials, then no firther review shall be necessary.^*"u*ot c .tr l', ll'n e drawing, sketch or other graphic representation annotated with dimensions, materials and, where ippropriate, lettering and lighting. The decision of the Caldwell Historic Preservation Commission will be based on the completed checklist. Any anticipated or unidentified changes not shown on the list will need to be discussed with staff and possibly returned to the Commission for approval. Work completed without the Commission's approval is in violation of the Municipal code and s"iiect to fines and/or reversal.
