Hi Sarah,
The neighborhood meeting is complete. I have attached the 300ft mailing list as well as
the sign in sheet for the people that attended the meeting. Please let me know what
are the next steps.
Thanks

The city does not force annexation unless they see a vested interest in
doing so; such as expansion for industrial or commercial use. We don’t
annex single parcels as it does not benefit the city in the long run. See the
photo below for examples of land within the city as an example. The
areas blocked out in color have been annexed in; the parcel in the center
has not. The home owner would need to request annexation and the city
will not force it. Hope this helps!

Hi Sarah,
Our neighborhood meeting is this Wednesday, and a few of the neighbors
have voiced concerns about them being eventually forced into
annexation. Are you able to provide a letter stating that forced annexation
should not be a concern? It would be helpful to show that letter to those
who raise that question at the neighborhood meeting
Thanks

Hi Alex,
I am processing your application
for annexation into the city and
found some things I need you to
revise. Unfortunately, your
neighborhood meeting was held
too long ago and will need to be
redone. City code requires only a
four month window of time for
you to submit your application
from the meeting. Please see the
attached documents explaining
the process. You will need to get a
new 500 foot mailing list from the
plat room at the Assessor's office;
which is located inside the Canyon
County Development Services
building. Please save this list as
you will need to submit it with
your revised letter of invitation
and your sign in sheet. I will hold
onto your application and will not
do anything further with it until
after you have submitted your
new neighborhood meeting
forms. Once you've submitted
those forms I'll open the portal for
you to pay fees; they'll be
$1,846.33.
Also, I've reached out to our
Mapping Department for
guidance on your metes and
bounds legals. Occasionally, they
require applicants submit
something drawn up by a
surveyor. I haven't heard back
from them yet. I will let you know
what they say when I do.
Let me know if you have any
questions.
Sarah
