Dear Caldwell Planning & Zoning Commission,
If the Copper Pointe development is approved, students from the 215 units would be
within the Central Canyon Elementary attendance boundaries.
Vallivue asks that the commission considers these points:
●Central Canyon is overcrowded and all fifth grade students are learning in
portable classrooms in order to have enough space for kindergarten - 4th grade
classrooms in the school building.
●Although Central Canyon is overcrowded, the school has been educating 50
students zoned for Lakevue Elementary because Lakevue is overcapacity by
more than 200 students.
●Central Canyon does not have space for any more portable classrooms.
●A bond to build two elementary schools failed twice in 2022.
●The Vallivue School Board will have a bond on the ballot in the May election. If
the bond passes, two new elementary schools will be built to solve the
overcapacity problem.
