Re: Case # ANN22-000005/CPM22-000002/SUP22-000005 Karcher Crossing
To Whom It May Concern:
The children within this property will attend the following schools:
●Lakevue Elementary School
●Summitvue Middle School
●Vallivue High School
We are concerned about the capacity Lakevue Elementary has to educate the children that would
move into this development if it were to be approved. Lakevue Elementary’s building capacity can
accommodate 725 students. The school year ended with an enrollment of 870, and we are expecting
enrollment to increase next year with the current multiple housing developments recently approved
by both the Nampa City Council with the Middlebury development and the Caldwell City Council
approving the Enclave development within Lakevue’s attendance boundaries.
To increase the school’s capacity, three portable classrooms were added for an additional six
classrooms. The portable classrooms are now full, and Lakevue does not have any more space on its
campus to add portable buildings to accommodate future growth.
Typically, students could be shifted to attend other elementary schools, however, all of the schools in
this area are already at capacity and projected to be overcapacity next year.
Due to high enrollment districtwide, Vallivue School District does not allow open enrollment for
students residing outside district boundaries.
The Vallivue School Board proposed a bond to alleviate crowding at Lakevue in March 2022.
Unfortunately, the bond failed. At this point, we are unable to count on new schools to provide relief.
Therefore, we ask that you deny or postpone this request until a bond has been approved by patrons
to build elementary schools that will alleviate overcrowding.
Sincerely,
Lisa Boyd
