Dear City of Caldwell,
Our current entrance to Westfield Lane (private drive) off of Farmway provides access to our
property and 2 other homes located on the Westfield Ln cul-de-sac.
Per Chickasaw subdivision a new road, Moss St, will be installed in the future and run parallel to
Westfield Ln, with the two entrances to Farmway Road being less than 75 ft apart from each other.
With this expansion of 400 homes, this would potentially increase daily traffic by at least 400
homeowners cars, additional public service vehicles such as Garbage, city of Caldwell utilities, local
deliveries, and all other public cars. Our concern is our ability to safely exit and enter onto Farmway
Road with these two streets being so close to each other. Also, per the Farmway Road Corridor as
traffic volume demands, this intersection will incorporate a traffic light which further increases
safety concerns.
We have had several conversations with the developer’s engineering firm (T.O Engineers - Becky
Yzaguirre) and have asked if it is possible to relocate the access for Westfield Lane from directly off
Farmway Rd to Moss St. We do have a verbal agreement with T.O Engineers for Westfield Lane
access to be tied into Moss St once the road is constructed and that the developer would pay for all
costs associated with relocating the entrance. However, we have received no formal agreement in
writing as to the above. So before this plan is approved, we request that all
paperwork/documentation regarding the relocation of the Westfield Lane access be formally
documented and filed with the City/County. Due to the potential high traffic on Moss St. we would
also request that there be signage installed stating do not block the intersection of where Moss and
Westfield Lane intersect.
