Officer Clinger to provide crash data at February meeting. (November 2023 mtg) February mtg — After reviewing crash data provided by Officer Clinger, it's appears the accidents may be caused largely from drivers not being able to see around parked cars on Cleveland. A motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to have Engineering evaluate the corners of Cleveland at 1611, 18th and 200 Avenues to determine sight visibility for parked vehicles and possible red curbing and/ or signage. Action: Engineering to evaluate as described above. New Business — 2. Request Stop Sign change at intersection of Washington and Ash — Jene Price for Robert Silvestro The intersection of Washington St and Ash St in the city of Caldwell have stop signs on the east and West directions of Ash St, my recommendation is the stop signs need to be placed on the North and South of Washington St. The intersection of Washington St and Ash St is too hard to maneuver through because of the parked cars on the northside of Washington St and Ash St, the vehicles are parked too close to the intersection, and you must enter cautiously far into the intersection to see if another vehicle is coming when you are going east bound on Ash St. Traffic Commission determined it is not justified to place a Stop sign to deter/enforce parking. A motion was made and TC agreed unanimously to have Code Enforcement talk to the occupant about the vision problem. Depending on the outcome Engineering may or may not review options to improve site vision at this intersection. Action: Code enforcement to address issue with occupant 3. Request dedicated turn lane at Linden and 10' Ave. — Kristen Colson 1 am inquiring about getting controlled left turn on linden and 10th ave. We are in a bus for the schools and we sat through 2 lights before we decided to go straight because there was 3 cars in front and not one was able to with how much traffic there was on linden and we can't speed through the light because we are in a bus like cars can but even then only 1 car was able to go through the second set of lights but he had to gun it because the straight people on the other side started to go. I feel as though with a controlled left turn will prevent less accidents because it will allow the turn people to actually have a chance to go on green and not be stuck there on multiple light changes and allow for less congestion as well. This is a current project the City Electrician is working on — No action needed Action: Tammy will reply to Ms. Colson Resource/ Weather Pending Business: 1. A signal is planned at 2411 Avenue and Blaine Street in front of the Simplot Stadium. The signal currently installed at Santa Anna and Ustick Road midblock will be repurposed for this project once the Ustick/Santa Anna RAB is complete.
