Remember your objective…It is your objective to persuade the decision makers to vote or decide in favor of your side of the issue. It will not help your cause to anger, alienate or antagonize the decision makers who are listening to your presentation. 2. Show your strength…Many neighborhood groups have organized their testimony by having one or a few people speak on behalf of the group. The leader will ask those in the audience supporting the testimony to stand. This conveys to the decision makers the seriousness with which the issue is viewed by the attending parties. 3. Speak to the point…Public officials have heard hundreds of people give testimony. They are grateful when the testimony is pertinent, well organized, and directly regards the matter at hand. Long stories, lectures or philosophy, abstract complaints about generalities, or redundant testimony are usually a poor use of time. 4. State your recommendation. 5. Be informed…. Get a copy of the plan being heard, the staff report, the proposed ordinance, or other pertinent material. Then read it and plan your comments accordingly. 6. If you don’t wish to speak, write it down… and submit it prior to the hearing. If written testimony is specific, to the point and concise, it will be given as much attention as oral testimony. 7. Be reasonable….Put yourself in the shoes of the decision makers. They must balance all points of view, interests and proposals being made, and find the best course for the overall public good. While. Be prepared to compromise. Any person needing special accommodations to participate in the meeting should contact the City Office at 208-455-3021 prior to the meeting. Cualquier persona necesitando comodidades especiales para participar en la reunión debe contactar al las oficinas de la Ciudad o llame a 208-455-3021 antes de la reunión. 1 126 127 68 60 109 8 5 3 9 109 4 7 2 6 11 12 97 98 46 49 109 27 24 88 39 43 47 33 40 10 84 17 82 28 87 51 111 45 44 29 15 72 86 13 99 53 38 26 25 110 42 75 80 37 30 41 31 22 79 73 76 32 78 69 36 34 58 55 6263 35 59 70 6566 48 71 50 77 74 14 81 89 67 16 20 1921 18 52 85 96959493929190 57 83 56 61 54 64 118 120112 124114115116117113121125122123 119 100 108107104102106105103101 23 Lake AveE Homedale Rd Laster St West on AveOr msby AveWar Eagle RdAsbury WayLaster Ln Ashton AveLayton AveWorth Way Hilton St H argr o ve A ve Duke St Hickman St Nez Perce RdShoshoni RdJulie St Kadie St Sagewood Ln Lexington St La n dsdown Av eSutton St Charmae St Groveton St Bainbridge St Newbridge St Ann Marie AveWinston St Abbott St Piute Pl Catherine AveEleanor St Silver PlLeanne AveG lim ary C tMidway Rd Lap Wai PlC am p o C tE m o r y S t Maid Jessica StSir James AveTates WayContinental Ln Kadie Ct E m m o n s S tWoodbury PlKane AveC ha t h a m C tManning CtD over G len PlF al l w o od C ir Anz a CtMacon CtK i r b y C ir Cleveland Blvd CityofCaldwell DISCLAIMER The information represented on this map results from the compilation of a variety ofsource materials.
