March 16, 2023
6:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Mike Dittenber (via FaceTime), Dave Wilson, Mark Pemble, Jodi Lile, Jackie
Hernandez, Debbie Geyer, and Norm Geyer.
Chairman Dittenber called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. The meeting was held at the Caldwell
Train Depot.

MINUTES APPROVAL
MOVED by Debbie Geyer, SECONDED by Jodi Lile to approve the minutes of March 17, 2022
as presented, noting that the June 16, 2022 and September 15, 2022 meetings were cancelled.
The December 15, 2022 meeting was a volunteer appreciation dinner with a special presentation
by the Owyhee County Historical Museum. No business items were discussed at the December
gathering.

Debbie Geyer outlined the contents of the Financial Report:
Beginning Balance 10-1-22 $8,078.79
Revenue 10-1-22 to 2-20-23 $1,979.86
Expenditures 10-1-22 to 2-20-23 $313.93
Ending Balance 2-20-2023 $9,744.72

• ACTION ITEM: PURCHASE OF NEW ENTRANCE MAT:
Information was provided by Debbie Geyer concerning the need for a second floor mat to
provide an alternate when one mat is being cleaned. Larry Sink, City Facilities Manager, will
assist with ordering the mat to resemble the dark colors used at the CPD for their entrance
mats. The estimated cost would be under $500.
MOVED by Norm Geyer, SECONDED by Jodi Lile to approve the purchase of a new entrance
door mat with the FOD logo (dark colors) not to exceed $500.00.

• DISCUSSION: 2023 INDIAN CREEK FESTIVAL:
Debbie Geyer provided a report regarding the success of the 2022 Indian Creek Festival event
at the Caldwell Train Depot. A partnership was established with the Caldwell Model Railroad
Club, the Caldwell Library, and the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare for vendors and
displays in the plaza and interior. The DHW had a large number of vendors and crowd due
to organized activities. DHW has requested to return to the event in 2023.
• DISCUSSION: HISTORIC EVENT AT THE DEPOT 2023:
Discussion was held concerning the possibility of offering a family -friendly historical event at
the depot this summer. Jodi Lile recommended the "WAGON HO" event organized by Cal &
Marla Clevenger. They provide a covered wagon, information about pioneer days in Idaho
and hands-on activities for children. They tour throughout Idaho including local schools. Jodi
will provide contact information for Debbie to follow-up. The recommended date is July 15,
2023 from 11 am to 3 pm in the depot plaza. Hot dogs/drinks could be offered by the FOD
for those in attendance.
DISCUSSION: MERCHANDISE SALES — DEPOT OPEN HOUSE:
Debbie reported that a point of sale device is available through City Treasurer Rachelle
Castleberry at City Hall for the host/hostess for the depot open house events. Please make
an appointment to meet with Rachelle when picking of the petty cash for the open house to
gain instructions on how to use the device.
