Jarom, This letter was sent to me from one of rry customers. I am forwarding it to you to be included in the staff report. Scott Kraemer To whom it may concern - I'm writing this letter in support of a new paintball park in Canyon County to be run and operated by Scott Kramer and his team from Pyrrhic Paintball. Paintball is a social game. It's a chance to get away from everyday life and spend some time with people you know and an opportunity to make new friends. It's one of the few sports that I personally have played for over 25 years that I continue to meet new friends and some of the best people in my life have come from playing paintball. It's a game of people, from planning to play to bragging after an epic battle. Paintball requires teamwork and strategy, and for some players, it's the first time they've ever really been challenged to talk through situations where strategy would be the difference between a win and a loss. Paintball is also a very active sport. In the day and age of video games and smart phones, kids are less likely to spend time outdoors "playing" than ever before. Pulling the controller out of a 12 year old's hands to stop playing Fortnight for a few hours can be tough. Giving them a real -life version of the game is a great way to "get off the couch" and get some real exercise. Many of our youth could really use this today! Paintball is also a lot of fun. There are lots of things in life that are rewarding, but if they happen to be fun while being rewarding, then they become a must -do activity. Paintball is a lot of fun to play and that sense of fun is what brings all of us back again and again. Every time I get ready to play, I imagine what could happen and after each game, we rehash what actually did happen. The period in-between when we're trying to accomplish whatever my goal was for that game is simply fun. I first started playing paintball in Meridian in 1992, at the old creamery building, which is now the site of the Meridian City Hall. Throughout my time playing paintball around the country, I've met incredible people, who care passionately about the sport, but even more about the players. I've been blessed with the opportunity to work with an organization called "Painting the World, One Kid at a Time", whose sole mission is to grow the sport of paintball by assisting underprivileged youth with getting their own gear so they can play paintball. My first "PTW" player was found here in Canyon County at Pyrrhic Paintball. He was 14 years old and did everything he could to play paintball every weekend. Paintball was the first place where everyone treated him as an equal. He was picked on or bullied. He wasn't talked down to or treated as an "other". He was a paintball player. He just needed help. PTW as an organization pooled together equipment. We spoke with his mom, and got her permission to move forward after looking at his grades Of r Lori Colligan From: Jarom Wagoner Sent: Monday, October 14, 2019 8:11 AM To: Lori Colligan Subject: FW: Pyrrhic paintball park Please print and place in file. I'm originally from Southern California and I've been an avid paintball player for the past 28 years ranging from recreational play and tournament play. I moved to Boise in 2016 (due to work reasons "Micron") and was hoping to find a paintball field in the Boise area. Lo and behold I found Pyrrhic Paintball Park. The first time I met the owner of Pyrrhic Paintball, Scott Kraemer, he greeted me as if he knew me for a long time. He's a very down to earth guy and made my paintball experience here in Idaho a great one. His work staff is great and he runs a very professional place of business. Scott and his work staff will help all players with all their paintball needs at the field. They are also sticklers when it comes to paintball safety because they want everyone's experience to be a good one. Plus, it's a great way to organize a private outing ranging from family outing birthday parties, church groups and company outings. I myself have organized a private group with my coworkers from Micron as a team building experience at Pyrrhic paintball. Needless to say my coworkers had a blast. I've been playing paintball since I was 19 years old. It is a sport that is a passion for me as well as others and I would love to see Pyrrhic Paintball to thrive and prosper.
