To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to ask your consideration in the approval of the rezoning of the 2 acre property
located at 5401 S Lake Avenue in Caldwell. I would like to request that the property be changed
from a code A Agriculture to a code C2 Commercial zoned property.
The purpose of this request is so that I may continue to run the business that my father Joe Israel
Rodriguez established as JBJ Diesel Repair LLC in 2008 and that I had taken over and began
managing as JBJ Automotive and Diesel Repair LLC in 2012. It was recently brought to my
attention that the property was not properly zoned, and I was not aware of the need for it to be
zoned as such while I was conducting my business. Had I been aware of this need I would have
submitted my request at the commencement of my taking over of the business. I would like this
request to be considered so that the current customer base that has been growing since the
establishment of the business's needs may be continued to be met.
I think that this is an important change. It will benefit the community at large by providing the
chance for small business to grow, giving the citizens an option of a reduced labor rate when
considering services provided by a local business rather than the higher rates provided by those
dealerships who operate in the area. This also helps the community by allowing business to stay
local by working with business partners such as Northwest Motor Machine, keeping the money
in city and in state rather than being exported out by the dealerships.
