PA- 2-, DATE: TO: FROM: SUBJECT: APR 16 2002 April 12, 2002 Steve Hasson, Community Development Director Douglas Brown, Assistant Chief i Fire Marshal Comments for Caldwell Planning & Zoning Commission April 25, 2002 Meeting The Caldwell Fire Department (CFD) offers the following comments regarding the following cases to come before the Caldwell Planning & Zoning Commission on April 25, 2002: Case No: VAR-24-02 Applicant: James Wylie Project: (sign request) Location: 5210 E. Cleveland Blvd. The CFD has no objection to this variance. Case No: ANN-65-02 Applicant: Southgate Subdivision No. One and Two Project: (Annexation of older subdivision) Location: Vicinity of W. Easy Street and Airport Avenue It appears that the intent of this annexation is primarily for the purpose of connecting to city water to replace their troubled community water system and wells. The CFD supports this annexation with the condition that, as city water is brought into their subdivision, that the CFD will require the installation of fire hydrants per UFC standards. It should also be noted that on the submitted plat map for Southgate Subdivision No. Two there is a roadway shown as West Roff Lane. That street name should be West Ross Lane. 1
