The Caldwell Fire Deparknent (CFD) offers the following comments regarding the following cases
to come before the Caldwell Planning &ZoningCommission on October 17,2002:
The CFD is aware of the current daycare operation at this facility and has conducted two State
Fire Marshal Daycare Center lnspections of this facility in the past three years. This facility
underwent a major upgrade of their fire alarm system over a year ago. If there are any significant
changes to the layout, exiting or occupant load the CFD will need to conduct another inspection.

The CFD has no record of a current licensed daycare center at this address. The Applicant will
have to apply for State Licensing and contact the CFD for state licensing fire inspection
requirements in advance of opening this operation.

The Engineering Department provides the following comments on the above referenced Special Use Permit
request and Annexation by the City of Caldwell:
'1. The existing property is not cunently connected to either City sewer or water services. Both sewer and
water services are located in Cleveland Boulevard on the northeast side of the road. The capacity of the
sewer and water systems, the City's ability to provide services, and connection fees for these services will
be determined when the owner applies for connection.
2. Within the City of Caldwell, Cleveland Boulevard (a.k.a. Caldwell Boulevard, l-84 Business Route) is a
state right-of-way. A permit to use right-of-way shall be obtained from the ldaho Transportation
Department (lrD) priorto any construction being performed in said right-of-way.
3. Storm water drainage from additional impervious areas created by any future modifications to the existing
structures and/or grounds shall be retained on-site in accordance with the City's Storm Water
Management Policy. A copy of this policy is available upon request. A professional engineer, licensed in
the state of ldaho, shall provide calculations, which indicate that the assumptions in his storm drainage
plan comply with the storm drainage policy.
4. lnigation water for any and all landscaping shall be obtained from Pioneer lnigation District sources.
