Dear Mr. Danetport:
I{e have revtqed the plane for the water supply for the Southgate Sub-
dlvislon No. l and 2 whlch are located one-half rnlle eouth of Caldiwell,
Idaho. We nould Ilke to know who or what body w111 be charged wlth the
orrrerehLp and responsiblllty of ualntalnlng the water system. AIso, I
understand that one of the wells nay be already drlL1ed. A log of this
well should be made available to thls Departmnt so a ProPer evaluatlon
of the proposed sater system can be oade.
It ls noted that an lrrlgatlon dltch |s to be placed ln a plpe and re-
located to a dlstance of approxirnately 3O feet fron the well. I would
questlon why, slnce thls dltch Is belng relocated, lt cannot be located
the nlnfunusr dlstance of 50 feet frorn the we}l, as required by the
standards. Ttre only tlure that we conelder the plplng of a dttch wtth
t atertlght plpe wlthin 50 feet of the well would be uhere an exlsting
sltuatlon occurred and there rgere no other alternativee. In thls case'
where thts l.s e new subdlvlslon, there should be no reason for having
to locate a well wlthln 50 feet of an irrigatlon dltch. It hlas not
