Variance for Flying "I' Sign
The Engineering Department has reviewed the proposed request for a variance regarding
the height ofa freestanding sign for Flying "I' Travel Plaza. The Engineering
Department provides the following comments on that request:
l. The proposed sign lies within the Airport overlay z.one. It is our recommendation
that approval ofthe Airport Manager and FAA be obtained, before construction of
the sign.
2. The site plan provided does not give clear indication whether the proposed sign
location is within State right-of-way or not. Of coursg any positioning of the sign
within State right-of-way is subject to their approval.
