o tr the board tended to favor the business man and ue cio not feel that
thls could be an impartial board rulth that attitude. Ue feel that
they should serve all citlzens lmpartiaIIy, as they are supposed to
represent all of us.
At the concluslon of the meeting, no decision hao been reachecl
and I'lr. Nicholes stated that they would t,ao-1e the matter until they
eould get a1f of the boa.rd together and thlt they r,rould rrithold
any actlon or decision until that tlme but would iet o" know the
decislon in 24 hours. M.r. Nlcholes r^ra s aware at that time, that ve
were valting to get the decision of the Elkrs Lodge to withdrav
thei.r name from the petition, on record wlth the Board.
The comiaitte fron The Elkt s Lodge met that €vening (Sept. 8)

A statement of t.hi s action, signed by the proper authoritles of the

Mr. Nic.holes cal1ed a meetlng of the Board the next afternoon
(Sept. 9) after having beon told of the decLsion of t.he Elks Lodge
and decided ln favor of the Construction Co..
We do not feel that ve r^re re treabed fairly by the board r,rhen

We hereby appeal to the Clty Council of Ca1dwel1 to revi.errr and

Honorable City Council
City of CaIdweII
Caldwell, Idaho 83605
Gent lemen:
!{e do appreciate the special cons ideration given to
us i-n obtaj-ning the varj-ance so we could temporarily
locate the 27 ft. trailer at the rear of the property
belonging to the Ameri-can Legion.
Our Sunday School and church have grown in the past
few months and the trailer will provide much needed
additional Sunday School space. We hope to obtain pro-
perty very soon so that we can proceed with our plans
to buiId.
We have been reaching some of the families who have
not become established i-n other churches here in Caldwell.
We have received our i-ncorporation papers and the congre-
gation is exc j-ted about the future we be lieve we have here
in Caldwell.
Your consideration in this project has been deeply
appreciated by the people who attend our fellowship, as
well as by me. We wish to cooperate in every way possible
with the City Council.
Sincerely yours,
DD: mt
