Discussion reviewing challenges of spli(hybrid schedules for schools. Similar challenges from fall continue to exist regarding how teachers and students appear to be handling the current school situation. Most schools are continuing with a hybrid, not allowing outsiders on, or having students leave campus, and experiencing difficulties planning. There was discussion to continue consideration of a virtual youth forum to include virtual dialogue and presentations/workhops in April. Playfair has agreed to lower their fees to $1800 to meet our budget limitations for this event. Ron will follow up with schools to respond by the end ofJanuary 2021 to confirm participation or to postpone to a September date. Subcommittee members who are affiliated directly with schools are tasked to do the following in the nefi few weeks: 1. Consider the viability of participating virtual mini forum in April (see below). 2. Explore options for workshops, thoughts on speakers, presentations, desired focus/ training topics, and breakout sessions. Meeting adjourned at 10:40. The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 9,202t, at 10:00am - TBA Ridgevue High School, 18800 Madison Rd, Nampa or via ZOOM Meetings. The fee is $1 800 Will use the Playfair Zoom account Playfair Online is a high-spirited, high-energy event that allows the new student class to engage with each other and laugh with each other and feel a part of an exciting new campus community. It's team building, it's comedy, and it's lots of fun! Here are a few examples of the type of aciivities your students will engage in during Playfair Online. The students move through numerous mental and physical challenges as they play games that bring them closer together. ln breakout sessions and large groups: "Sorry l'm Late"- in a group of 4 for roughly 3 minutes in rounds: give a reason why you are late based on a moive or film- Others in your group have to guess the answer. For example: "Sorry l'm late my house got lifted in a tornado and landed on a witch." (Someone will yell out Wzard of O2... they all cheer) then it switches to someone else, Home campus Home campus 11 :30 am- l2:30 pm l2:30 pm -1:00 pm "The Alphabet Game'r- (also in groups of 4). Things you would find in a dorm room, alternating naming objects by moving through the alphabet. Round one might be answered- apple computer, bowling ball, can of coke, dictionary, etc. ln next round in new breakout rooms the subject might be "lmaginary course titles that do not exist anywhere." For example for letter A- "Archeology and history of lego communities," followed by "Botany for hockey players." With the larqe qroup- Follow the Random Choreographer: dancing and "making eye contact" with someone as though you are really in the same room and following their moves. "Spotlight" lets random students lead the dance Switching every 15 seconds to new song and new eye contact. lnstead of high fiving or shaking hands the large group will do other symbols re: Jazz Hands or creative gestures that others will follow. Diversity POLLS - everyone plays at same time Let's learn something about your classmates: 1. . Are you the first person in your family to go to college? (yes, no) 2.. Do you send more than 25 text messages every day? (yes, no) 3. Do you consider yourself to be an honest person? (yes, no) 4. Have you ever peed in the shower? (yes, no) 5. Have you ever told your parents you were going to be one place but you actually went someplace else? (yes, no) How it will work: Length of program- roughly 75 minutes depending upon what your needs are. Two facilitators from our end (Playfair)- one works all the tech, puts music on, runs demo videos how to play the game, spotlights various students, and breaks the large group into smaller breakout sessions. The other facilitator actually is the face that everyone sees and hears (as though on stage). l B -lI lr u"-t I rI -l H ;r?/ t ru \ Il,I f!
