CALDWELt, IDAHO 83605 IETEPHONE /155-3ml FAX 455-3003 MINUTES Moeting of June 23, 1994 Present: Steve Maughan - Chairman, Boy Payne, Elaine Carpenter; Staff: Dennis Crooks; Historic Consultant: Susan Stacy; Absent: Tom Ensley, Carol Burbank, Bill Gigray lll, Elaine Leppert, Vivian McKay. Since there was no quorum established, no action was taken on the minutes for April 28, 1994. Historic Consultant, Susan Stacy then presented a report to the group on the survey work being done in the Arlington neighborhood. Slides of the sites and residences were shown and Susan discussed age, style and historic significanc€ of the buildings. Susan indicated that, of the 24 sites surveyed at the reconnaissance level, approximately 8 of those appeared worthy of more in depth research. She said she would do some additional work and narrow the field to five or so candidates. From there, it would be up to the Commission to select the two sites of intensive level survey as specified in the grant work contract. Dennis indicated that a special meeting of the Commission may be necessary in order to make that decision and keep the proiect on schedule. Also discussed by the group were ideas for the upcoming 1995 grant proposal. Steve suggested a walking tour brochure for the downtown historic buildings. lt was agreed this topic would have to be discussed in more detail before the full Commission. Steve also cited the correspondence from the State Historic Preservation Otfice and their offer to provide resource assistance and training to local Historic Preservation Commissions. With no further business the meeting was concluded at g:00 p.m. Submitted By, nts E.C ks \
