( 1906) MINUTES Meeting of March 23, 1995 Carol Burbank, Tom Ensley, Dean Finc[ BiIl Ggray III, Roy Payne, Elaine Carpenter Dennis Crooks, Liz Yeary Elaine Leppert, Steve Maughan The March 23, meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order in the Caldwell City Library Idaho Room at 7:00 p.m. The first item ofbusiness was approval ofthe Minutes ofthe February 9, 1995 meeting. Tom Ensley offered a Motion to approve the Minutes as submitted. Dean Finch seconded the Motion which passed unanimously. The next item involved a discussion ofthe Caldwell Depot and an informational report conceming the Idaho National Guard and their agreement to paint the Depot as a Community Project. Firm dates ofFriday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 have been set for the project. Paint color was also discussed and it was agreed that the existing color should be matched rather than attempting to select a new color. Also, the need to use a quality primer, preferably a tint primer was emphasized. At this point in the meeting, Bill Gigray III arrived. The next topic ofdiscussion involved the 1995 grant project. Concerning the Depot Nomination, a letter of acceptance and project time frame from selected consultant, Madeline Buckendorf was distributed to Commission members, Everything appeared to be in conformance with the agreed upon project time frame. Discussion of the Community workshop then followed beginning with the correspondence from selected consultant Fred Walters which included a proposed workshop outline. The Commission reviewed and discussed the outline and approved it unanimously. The Commission also discussed final preparations for the workshop including the distribution of flyers to home improvement type businesses in the City and the mailing list for flyers which has HISTORIC PRESERVAT ION COMMISSION Minutes - March 23, 1995 - P.l o been developed. Dennis a.lso reported that there had not been any positive response on attaining sponsorships and door prizes. Elaine Carpenter suggested contacting potential sponsors by telephone. It was decided that each Commission member could take 4 or 5 businesses to contact in attempting to gain sponsorships. With no funher business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. with a note that the next meeting of the Commission will be on Thursday, April 13, 1995.
