Members Absent: Bill Gigray III, Steve Maughan, Ed Alien, and Rick Wells. Comrnunity Developrnent Staff: Bud Knickerbocker Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at the Caldwell City Library,in the Idaho Room, at 7:00 p.m. by Chai:person Nye. Old Business Approval of Minutes: Chairperson Nye introduced a motion that the minutes be approved; Commissioner Ensley seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously. Phase ?: The finishing of phase Z survey was discussed. Vfhen thegrant money is made available, it will then be necessary to go out forbids and locating a firm or individual that can complete this survey.Three bids are necessary. The Arrowrock group and Susan Stacy will be considered. New Business Inlill: The Committee wants to pursue ways to ensure that infill continues in the Historic areas of Caldwell. Historic Preservation Commission -l- oa Signs: T\ro types ofsigns are being discussed. One sign is for housesor buiidings that are on the Historic Register and. a second. kind of signwould designate a structure that is historically significant. Depot: Depot repointing (?) is all done, but still there is a need to docleaning on some remaining brick. This brick work is still rough.Soffits are still peeling badly and wili need to be painted. Facia is stillokay. The budget for maintenance has been lesJthan in previousyears. We will be looking for volunteer labor to help with maintenanceof the building. New Members: There is a pressing need for additional members onthe commission. "The commission shall consrst of not more than nine(9) members with the due regard to proper representation of suchfields as history, architecture, urban planning, archeologry and law. Inaddition, there shall be at least one non-voting liaison person, amember of the City Council.,,[(Bill No. g Ordinance No. l?Zg A-rticte II(a)1.
