Seniors Center: The Senior Center has requested that they be allowed
to modify the sidewalk in ftont of the center. They are requesting that
they be allowed to increase the landscaping along the sidewalk, modify
the angles of the sidewalk and create a buffer for the seniors using the
center. Eventually, they intend to extend the sidewalk to both ends of
the block and the commission agrees that there is no problem with this.
The commission discussed how they believe the sidewalk should be
redesigned and will discuss this with the Senior Center.
Council Lriaison: Councilperson Rick Wells informed the commission
that the new Mayor is considering assigning council members to
certain projects rather than being liaisons with groups.
Cornprehensive Plan: Councilperson Rick Wells reminded the
commission that they need to write a letter to Bill Roos reguesting that
they be allowed input on the revision of the City's Comprehensive Plan.
He stated that he is concerned that if the Historic Preservation
Commission does not become involved that this segment of the Plan
will be removed. He has suggested that a maP outlining the Historic
District be placed in the Comprehensive Plan.
