Since there was not a forma l meeting .ln December, there were no mlnutes to be read. The flrst order of buslness was the election of new officers for 1984, It was moved by Lorene Thurston that 1st Vice Chalrman, Jan BeckwJth, be elected Chairman. Motion was seconded and passed. ,lan Beckwlth assumed the chair, and Tom Ensley moved that Susan Gllroy and Chuck Randolph, respectively, be elected lst and 2nd Vice Chalrma-n. Motlon seconded and passed. Chuck Randolph noved that Tom Ensley be elected Secretary. The moilon was seconded and passed. The followlng report was made on the status of the Conmlssion Membership appol ntments : The- appol ntments of Lorene Thurston, Dave Dorsey, Jan Beckwith and Tom Ensley explrcd.at the end of 1983. Paul Evan,s'explred at the end of l9B2;Jeannette Rlce's 1984; and Chuck Randolph, Char'lie Shaffer and SusanGllroy ln 1985. A letter of reslgnatioh ias read from paul Evans, andJeannette Rlce has verbally reslgned from the Conmlssion but a leiter hasnot been recei ved. At the next meetlng, (February 2), determlnation wll'l be made for names to recommend to the Councll to fitl the vacancles, as well as a request tore-appolnt the four lndlviduals whose explrat{on date was 1983. Lorene Thurston reported that she was near completlon of an audlt of the books for the Centennial Account, and wlll hav6 a full report, to besubmitted to the Council , by the February meetlng.
