members, Mayor Mc0luskey, Les Carter, Roger Horton, Loulsa Con€ and
2 guests were present. laddy Pace was lntroduced as a representative
of the Dewly formeal 'rold Toro l&d#t s Assoc.n She will attenal our
m€etings regularly as a liason officer. Steve Manker, free lance wrlter
was alao lntroduced. Mlnutes were tlispensed wlth.
Ivlayor McOluskey spoke concerning the Centennlal Task Force he ls
starting. Presently there are 2 members--Mccluskey and Roger Horton. Its
purpose will be to get a broader base of volunteer actlvity anal partlcip-
ation.Members of the buslness comraunity and other clvlc leaders wilI
be asked to serve. A motlon was maoe, seconaled anal passed that the
Centennial Oonmlssion adopt the Mayorts proposal for th6 Task tr'orce and
that the Ma.yor wil-I appoint a Centennial_ Task tr'orce to coordinate vole
unteer actlvities anal work in congunctlon wlth the Oomnlssion.
In the revitalization of downtown Calalweil, I mercha[ts have
organized an nOJ-tt foroL#Jo".'r Amotrg the many p]-ans of d oryndown promot, j. on
ls a newspaper insert (Press-Trlbune) 15 tlmes a year. This w111 have
an early day theme. Pad.dy Pace wlLl attend. comrnisslon meetings as a
Ilason. In congunction wlth the 01d Town Assoc. Christmas celebratlon
on Dec. 18, the centennlal Llorunlssion was asked to se11 hot
dougbnut s, calendars, and bumper stickers at the Tlco Tl-co
Shop from 2-4PM. 2 Volunteers are needed.
