Linden Street Caldwell, ID 83605 Email: laustin@cityofcaldwell.org 208-459-9779 Date: March 4th, 2021 Time: 12:00 Noon – 1:30 PM Location: Caldwell Industrial Airport – Hubler Terminal Conference Room Commission Members Present: Steve Kahn- Chairman, Greg Swanson, Vivian Ferkin, David Carson, Rob Oates – Airport Manager, Lisa Austin – Airport Administrative Assistant, Misty Peters – Airport Administrative Assistant Commission Members Absent: Chris Allgood (City Council Rep.), Al Rice, Red Dory Guests: Brent Orton – Public Works Director, Doug Waterman –City Attorney, Toby Epler – JUB. Rob Allen, Stan Siewert Chairman Steve Kahn called the meeting to order at 12:06 pm. 1. Minutes of February 4, 2021 Airport Commission Meeting Motion was made and seconded to accept the February 4th 2021 Minutes. Motion passed. 2. Audience Participation- Stan S.- Asked on behalf of Chris Marshall if any feedback on letter that was passed out 3/4/21. It was acknowledged that it had been read. Greg S. – Hangars not in Compliance for long periods of time. New dirt being available to hangars. Find a more structured way so individuals would be able to purchase. David C- Safety concerns for chemicals, Gas or Propane being stored in Hangers. Suggested Fire Department Inspections for safety reasons. Brent O. – Said we could look into safety inspections. He will check with Alan Perry – Fire Marshall. 3. Review of Compliance Standards with FAA Aeronautical Policy - Rob Oates As our Airport continues to grow, it was getting more challenging to track compliances. The Airport has a new program that will help better track Hangars, Stakeholders and Aircraft. This will help us keep a better record. 4. Airport Improvement Program – Toby Epler JUB Bids to be open March 30th for 3 phase, 12 week Runway project. Taking place July, August and September. Proposed development of taxi lanes & hangars to Southeast parcel –Douglas Waterman Negotiating on changing the role of the Commission to address violations for compliance. May bring in the City Council to make this change. 6. Announcements – Rob Oates Due to time constraints, these items will be moved to the newsletter and or April meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 pm. Next Airport Commission Meeting: April 1st, 2021 - Noon
