ORDINANCE NO. 3412
AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CALDWELL CITY COUNCIL CHANGING THE OFFICIAL NAME OF A
PORTION OF THAT RIGHT-OF-WAY KNOWN AS "AVIATION WAY" TO "AVIATION WAY NORTH";
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, State of Idaho:
Section 1: That pursuant to the authority set forth in Idaho Code § 50-318 and in the Caldwell City Code
at § 05-07-08(2), and upon the request of the Caldwell Mapping Department, the portion of that certain
right-of-way north of the Hillcrest Lane alignment known as "Aviation Way" shall be changed to "Aviation
Way North".
Section 2: This change will be effective immediately upon publication of this ordinance.
Section 3: This ordinance is hereby declared to be severable. If any portion of this ordinance is declared
invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect
and shall be read to carry out the purposes of the ordinance before the declaration of partial invalidity.
Section 4: All ordinances, resolutions, orders and parts thereof in conflict herewith are repealed,
rescinded and annulled.

SUMMARY STATEMENT.•
The addressing grid break line between North and South designations occurs at the Hillcrest Lane/Simplot Blvd.
alignment. In the interest of not having to change all addresses south of this alignment to a South prefix indicator,
it has been determined instead to add a North post indicator to all addresses north of the above alignment.
However this determination was made after two subdivisions, Voyage Crossing North Subdivision No.'s 1 & 3, were
platted without the North post indicator labeled for Aviation Way.
While there is an application under review for an RV park which will take its primary entrance from this portion of
Aviation Way, there are currently no structures addressed off of this section of the roadway.
It is proposed that this section of Aviation Way and all future segments built north of the above alignment carry the
official name of "Aviation Way North".
Staff recommends approval of the attached Ordinance.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the attached ordinance and authorize the Mayor to sign on behalf of the City
